I've always been surprised that the fast-growing, technology-led Indian film, TV and web content industry operates in a rather archaic and opaque manner when it comes to identifying and engaging talent or services. Having spent some time in the entertainment industry in India, I am aware that there isn't a single player who offers credible and unfettered access to talent pools or to service providers.

Beneath the glamour of Bollywood films and its household-name actors, producers and directors, there are a whole range of services and service providers that make the film industry tick. These services traditionally have been provided largely by small-scale and often disorganised businesses or individuals in what is otherwise a multi-billion dollar industry. The time for a business that creates a digital, transparent, democratic and efficient marketplace has come and I think Filmboard could perform an important role in the market. I’m excited to support the venture.
